The Founder of Beltline Health: Weight Loss Solutions, Dr. Charles Procter Jr. brings over 20 years of unparalleled expertise to his craft. He stands as a trailblazer in the surgical landscape, having pioneered the utilization of the DaVinci surgical robot by general surgeons in Georgia back in 2008, revolutionizing surgical techniques in the state.

He was the first surgeon in Georgia to perform the cholecystectomy, duodenal switch and modified duodenal switch (SADI-S) procedures and the complex transversus abdominis release hernia repair surgery using the surgical robot.

Internationally recognized, Dr. Procter has garnered a widespread following owing to his appearances on major television shows like “Too Large,” “Family By the Ton,” “1000 lb Best Friends,” and “1000 lb Sisters” which air regularly on The Learning Channel, DiscoveryPlus, OWN, and HBO Max.

Currently serving as the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Georgia’s highest-volume bariatric Center of Excellence, Dr. Procter has established himself as a leader in his field. Notably, he has performed more bariatric procedures using the LivsMed Artisential articulating surgical instruments than any other surgeon in the world. This groundbreaking technique is the biggest advancement in laparoscopic surgery in decades and is a testament to his dedication to remain at the forefront of innovation and skill in the realm of bariatric surgery.

Along with his leadership roles at Northside Hospital and at the helm of Beltline Health, a cutting-edge medical and surgical weight loss practice catering to patients seeking renewed health nationwide, Dr. Procter has also contributed significantly to the medical literature with his authored chapters in multiple textbooks on surgical anatomy and technique.

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Procter enjoys unwinding on the golf course, where, despite his admitted lack of skill, he relishes spending time with his three sons. His greatest source of joy, however, remains the enduring bond he shares with his wife of more than two decades.
